Hume Charitable Fund

The Hume Charitable Fund is a Charitable Fund account of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation and was established to support and distribute funds to charities in Hume City. The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation has been supporting charities across the Melbourne metropolitan area since 1923.

Hume City Council recently encouraged applications from eligible Hume charities working in the areas of health and human care.

The Hume Charitable Fund accepts applications for a number of general grants up to the maximum value of $5,000 per individual charity.

Hume City Council is delighted to announce that the Hume Charitable Fund Panel has awarded Hume Charitable Fund Grants for 2012 to the following recipients:

  • McKenna House - Hume City Council congratulates McKenna House on the award of a Hume Charitable Fund 2012 Grant. Council recognises the work of the Palliative Care Unit and the services provided to the Hume Community. Council honours the Palliative Care Unit staff and volunteers in their provision of care that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problems associated with life limiting illness.
  • Riding for the Disabled (Oaklands) - Hume City Council congratulates Riding for the Disabled (Oaklands) on the award of a Hume Charitable Fund 2012 Grant. Council recognises the work of Riding for the Disabled (Oaklands) and the services provided to the Hume Community. Council honours the RDA (Oaklands) Volunteers for the provision of horse riding experience to disabled children from local Special Development Schools to increase engagement of child and improve balance and co-ordination skills.
  • Lighthouse Foundation - Hume City Council congratulates Lighthouse Foundation on the award of a Hume Charitable Fund 2012 Grant. Council recognises the work of Lighthouse Foundation and the services provided to the Hume Community. Council honours Lighthouse Foundation for the provision of a home, sense of family and therapeutic care to homeless young people from backgrounds of long term neglect and abuse.
  • E-Qubed - Hume City Council congratulates E-Qubed on the award of a Hume Charitable Fund 2012 Grant. Council recognises the work of E-Qubed and the services provided to the Hume Community. Council honours E-Qubed staff and volunteers for the provision of emergency food supplies to over 70 families per week for 48 weeks of the year.
