Is your organisation a not for profit charity serving people in the Hume municipality with Deductible Gift Recipient status? If so, you are invited annually to apply to the Hume Charitable Trust Fund for consideration of a general grant to assist your organisation in its work for our community.
The Hume Charitable Trust Fund was established to support and distribute funds to charities in Hume City and operates within the umbrella of the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation, which has been supporting charities across Melbourne metropolitan area since 1923. We encourage applications from eligible charities working in the areas of health and human care.
Eligible charities working in the areas of health and community care, providing basic needs to the Hume community, were invited last year to apply for a number of general grants up to $5,000 per individual charity.
Recipients of the 2010 Hume Charitable Trust fund were:
Meadow Heights Learning Shop - Provides adult education, recreation, leisure and children's services opportunities to the community.
Careworks Sun Ranges Inc. - Alleviates suffering and distress by providing of emergency food hampers, financial aid, counselling and advocacy and emergency accommodation.
Craigieburn and District First Response Team Inc - Emergency Ambulance First Response reduces ambulance waiting times by up to 30 minutes and teaches First Aid/CPR free of charge.
Riding for the Disabled - Oaklands - Provides horse riding experience to disabled children from local Special Development Schools to increase engagement of child and improve balance and coordination skills.
Cancer and Natural Therapy Foundation - Provides support to people affected by cancer through resource library, counselling, health seminars, group and individual support and referral service.
