Construction of the $300 million Craigieburn Town Centre development is a step closer, with developers Lend Lease lodging an official planning permit application with Hume City Council.

The long awaited Hume Global Learning Centre - Craigieburn opened on Monday 7 May.

The $5.5 million project to extend the existing Craigieburn Leisure Indoor Sports Stadium is now complete.

On February 1, Hume City Council signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the development of the Hume Regional Tennis and Community Centre in Craigieburn.

The project works on community-driven priorities in Craigieburn. Hume City Council's Craigieburn Community Renewal initiative is funded by the Victorian Government.

The project is funded by Vic Health to promote awareness and provide opportunities for participation in sport and active recreation for Craigieburn Residents.

Construction of Aitken Boulevard between Mt Ridley Road and Somerton Road, in a series of stages between now and 2013.

Council is now finalising the Master Plan for the Craigieburn Gardens precinct.
