Craigieburn Community Renewal
Craigieburn Community Renewal involves forming partnerships between residents, Council, non-government organisations and the various agencies and departments of the State Government, to work on community-driven priorities in Craigieburn. Hume City Council's Craigieburn Community Renewal initiative is funded by the Victorian Government.
The objectives of Community Renewal are:
- community participation in decision making
- improved employment and learning opportunities
- more volunteering and neighbourhood support
- improved community facilities and open space
- greater participation in cultural, recreational and sporting activities, and
- increased feelings of safety and wellbeing
Craigieburn Community Renewal has facilitated the local delivery of more than 40 initiatives valued at over $3 million, including:
- Healthy Hume Craigieburn Community Garden
- Benston Street Boulevard Project
- Connecting Craigieburn (pedestrian and cycle links and way finding signage project)
- Craigieburn Community Transport Service
- Craigieburn Community Christmas Celebration
- Sri Lankan New Year Celebration
- Sri Guru Singh Sabah (Sikh Temple Community Open Day)
- Community Hubs in Schools
- Education Expo and the Education 3064 Information Booklet
- Craigieburn Gateway Project
- Joblink 3064
- Re-opening of Craigieburn Hall
- Craigieburn Safety Expo
- BMX, Skate and Scooter Expo
- Aitken Creek Family Fun Day
- Hanson Road bike lanes
- Craigieburn Station Bicycle Parkiteer (2012-13)
