Sports Equipment Library

Come in to Craigieburn Leisure Centre to borrow a basketball, soccer ball or one of the many games for children and families from the sports equipment library.  All items are free to borrow – you can use them in your local park!

Broadmeadows Bike Hub

Located at Banksia Gardens Community Centre on Pearcedale Parade, the Broadmeadows Bike Hub encompasses the Fix and Ride program, regular AustCycle classes and rides for beginners and intermediate riders.  These activities intend to provide everything you need to support more cycling in Hume.

Fix and Ride

Are you ready to learn basic bicycle maintenance? Fix and Ride workshops run each week from the Banksia Garden Community Centre, Broadmeadows. A qualified bicycle mechanic is available to teach people how to fix and maintain bicycles. Bring your own bike to fix or work on a pre-loved bike and take it home with you! Contact Healthy Hume to learn of new Fix and Ride locations in Hume being planned for 2012.

AustCycle

AustCycle is a free program which provides information and develops skills and knowledge to support more confident cycling on paths and the road. Learn and practice key techniques which will allow you to ride confidently. AustCycle sessions run for several hours and are happening across Hume during 2012, contact Healthy Hume to find out more.

Bike rides for beginners

Regular bike rides will take place from locations across Hume.  The rides will mainly take place on paths with some road riding.  Everyone is welcome to come along, but rides will be best suited to beginners and intermediate riders.

Lift for Life

Lift for Life is a strength based program which is beneficial for people looking to start exercising or slowly introduce themselves back into exercise.  Lift for Life operates at all three Hume City Council Leisure Centres. Contact a Leisure Centre near you for more information.
