Teachers' Scholarships Program
Teachers play a vital role in our community and these scholarships have been recognising and rewarding inspiring teachers in Hume City since 2005.
Each year, Council calls students, parents and colleagues to nominate their favourite teacher for a scholarship.
The winning teacher from each of the six categories wins a $4000 scholarship to be used to learn new models, ideas and approaches to supporting learning, knowledge or skill development in Australia or overseas.
For the first time in 2011, the two runners-up in each category also won $500 scholarship prize money.
Scholarship prize money
The winning teacher from each of the six categories win $4000 and the two runners-up in each category win $500.
The Hume City Council Teachers’ Scholarships allow teachers to learn about new models, ideas and approaches to supporting learning, knowledge or skill development in Australia or overseas.
This may include attending conferences and workshops, or working with an innovative project.
