Visions for Broadmeadows come to fruition...
Hume residents will be able to enjoy their new Main Street extension as early as November 2009, with construction commencing early next week.
The extension will run between Pearcedale Parade and Dimboola Road creating a stylish new space that will be used to access the Broadmeadows Leisure Centre, netball courts, basketball stadium, and other key sites in the Broadmeadows Central Activities District.

Construction commences on Broadmeadows basketball court
Works have commenced on the $4.7 million two-court extension to the Broadmeadows Basketball Stadium and are on track to be completed by late 2009. As part of the project, two courts will be added to the existing centre with car parking provided underneath.

Car Park closes as construction of Main St extension begins
With construction on Main Street Extension commencing on Monday May 11, 2009, the car park at the rear of the Broadmeadows Leisure Centre will no longer be available for public parking from this date.
From early May until December 2009, Council will be constructing a new road that will link Dimboola Road with Pearcedale Parade. The road is an extension of Main Street and will be constructed behind the netball courts at the Broadmeadows Leisure Centre.
As a result of this construction the rear car park behind the Broadmeadows Leisure Centre netball courts will be closed, and there will be reduced car parking at Youth Central. The main car park at the front of the leisure centre will remain fully accessible.
