News>Get your wheels turning with the Bicycle Users Group
| Hume BUG | | Hume City Council invites residents to join the Hume Bicycle Users Group (BUG), a community cycling group. The first meeting of the group will be held on Wednesday 11 November at 7pm at the Hume Global Learning Centre, 1093 Pascoe Vale Road, Broadmeadows.
Group activities will include rides and social events, campaigns and advocacy, meeting local cyclists and identifying and improving the local cycle network.
The Bicycle Users Group is a great initiative. Residents can stay fit and healthy while enjoying the company of other riding enthusiasts.
Cycling is a growing pastime within Hume and the group will give residents a fun and exciting way to explore our city.
The recent announcement of $348,272 funding from the Federal Government for a bike path along Blind Creek in Sunbury fits in well with the new group and be another place for residents to enjoy riding.
The establishment of the Hume BUG is a partnership between Hume City Council, Northern Transport Links and Craigieburn Community Renewal.
Northern Transport Links is funded through the Victorian Government's Transport Connections program, a cross government initiative to help communities work together to improve local transport.
For more information or to RSVP to the meeting, please email cycling@hume.vic.gov.au or contact Hume City Council Customer Service on 9205 2200.
