Adopt a Park

Would you like to make a difference in your local area and make some new friends in your neighbourhood? Hume is calling on residents to adopt a local park to help us keep them clean, safe places that we are proud to live in. To register your interest and for more information on what support you will receive from Council contact Council’s Waste and Litter Education Officer on 9205 2200. Visit Adopt a Park for more information.

Community Fruit and Vegetable Gardens

Hume City Council has commenced designing five community gardens as part of the Healthy Hume initiative. The gardens will be ready for use by the local community in the next couple of months for growing herbs, vegetables and fruit. Visit Community Gardens for more information.

So get involved in your local area. Learn hands-on gardening and grow your own fresh and organic food. The gardens can also help reduce your household waste by using communal composting systems and are fantastic places to meet other people. If you would like to know more, call us on 9205 2200 or email healthyhume@hume.vic.gov.au
