Our Preschool centres are holding a Preschool Open Night on Wednesday 19 June from
5pm – 7.30pm. See below for centre locations.

Four Year Old Preschool

Preschool offers play based programs to develop the social, emotional, cognitive, physical and language skills of children. Attending preschool improves the quality of children's experience of school and life long learning. Your child will have the opportunity to be involved in creative activities and develop physical and social skills. Preschool also encourages the involvement of families.

How Do I Book?

Preschool registrations can be lodged from 1 March, two years in advance of attendance, at any Council office. A photocopy of the child's birth certificate or passport and a non-refundable $12 administration fee is required. This fee may be waived for concession card holders. Please read the registration form for further details.

How Do I Change My Registration / Enrolment?

To amend your registration / enrolment details download our Change of Registration Details Form.pdf (172.49 kb). Please return the completed form to your nearest Hume City Council Customer Service centre.

Note: for changes to program preferences submitted by 30 June in the year prior to attendance, the original registration date will be retained. Changes to preferences submitted after 30 June in the year prior to attendance will result in a new registration date.

How do I Cancel out of a Program?

Download a copy of the cancellation form.pdf (154.27 kb), complete and return the form to your nearest Customer Service Centre or submit to your child’s teacher/program supervisor.

Is My Child Eligible?

Your child is eligible to attend a funded preschool program if they turn four years of age on or before 30 April in the year of attendance. Read the Preschool Enrolment Policy.pdf (49.01 kb) for more information or call us on 9205 2200.

Preschool Field Officer

We have a Preschool Field Officer who provides support to children with additional needs, their families and Preschool Staff, in order to include them in Four Year Old Preschool. The Preschool Field Officer can be contacted on 9205 2200.
