Food Services
Our food services are available to those people who are nutritionally at risk and are unable to prepare regular meals as a result of fragility or sickness. We will attempt to assist clients to meet nutritional requirements in a manner that suits you.
Meals on Wheels
We provide a home delivered three-course lunchtime meal. These meals can be delivered hot for immediate consumption, or cold to be reheated later. These meals are available five days per week. For residents who require a seven-day per week service, two additional frozen meals are delivered on Friday. You must be home to receive your meal. Please cancel your meal if you will be out. If meals staff cannot alert you at home, they will follow an emergency procedure to ensure you are safe.
In-Home Meal Preparation
The in-home preparation of meals is usually provided for particularly frail, older people, or for those residents with dementia. The meals preparation is usually a breakfast or evening meal and generally forms part of a package of personal care services.
Shopping
If you require assistance with shopping, in some areas a regular door to door shopping trip is made to local shopping centres using our community bus.
Hume's home and community support services provides a range of services to eligible residents who are frail older people, people with disabilities and carers. For further information and to find out your eligibility contact our Aged and Disability Services Intake Officer on 9205 2839.
