Free Environmental training to work with the community and do something good for the environment
The Hume Environmental Champions program, commencing 15 February, 2012, includes a 10-unit training course which covers resource use, environmental impacts and practical sustainability; as well as how to plan, design and deliver a community project.
What is a community project?
Anything you can think of which helps people consider the environment, and take action to reduce their environmental impact. For example, you could start a community garden or a food swap; deliver environmental presentations or information sessions; help your workplace reduce standby energy use, improve recycling, or start a compost system.
The training course will be held evenings and weekends for 2-3 hours per week and total around 28 hours. The full program will take approximately 60 hours. There is no cost to participants.
After the training participants will work together with like-minded people to put your skills and knowledge into practice to help create positive environmental outcomes in your local community.
