Strategy
The Land Management Strategy outlines how Council will work with landowners and all levels of government to ensure that the stewardship of rural land within Hume is a priority.
Pest Plants
Pest plants (also referred to as weeds) have a significant impact on the survival of native plants and animals, and affect the primary productivity and amenity of rural land in Hume.
Pest Animals
Pest animals pose considerable environmental, economic and social impacts upon the natural and rural landscapes across Hume. Some pest animals require control by all landowners.
Incentive Schemes
Council offers a number of incentive schemes to support rural landowners who recognise the importance of adopting practices which preserve the quality and health of their land.
Illegal Landfill
A few millions tonnes of soil that originates from construction sites is moved within Hume every year. If it is not disposed of appropriately, this soil can cause serious negative impacts on the environment.
Resources & Assistance
A range of resources, links and further information on land management issues is available to assist and inform rural landowners in Hume.
