Residents can call Council's graffiti hotline and change graffiti in Hume for good. Residents and business owners can call 1300HUMECLEAN or 1300 486 325, day or night to report graffiti in any part of Hume or Report Graffiti & Dumped Rubbish Online.

Illegal rubbish dumping can be anything left where it is not meant to be, such as car tyres, soil and garden waste, household and construction waste. Help keep Hume clean and report illegal rubbish dumping by calling 1300 HUME CLEAN (1300 486 325). Help make Hume a clean, proud city!
Free Graffiti Removal Kits
Hume City residents can ask for a free graffiti removal kit at any Council Customer Service Centre (one per household). The kits are available for Hume residents whose property has had graffiti damage and who do not currently qualify for free graffiti removal under Council's criteria.
Is Graffiti Illegal?
In April 2008, new graffiti laws came into effect in Victoria. The Graffiti Prevention Act 2007 identifies the illegal marking of graffiti as a crime in its own right. There is a distinction between graffiti as art, and graffiti as an illegal activity.

Litter
Litter is a form of pollution; it is anything left where it is not meant to be. We collect litter and rubbish that has been dumped on roadsides and in parks and reserves. Dumped rubbish will be inspected by our Litter Officer for identification which may result in a fine.
How do I Report Litter?
To report litter contact us on 9205 2200. Or you can complete a Litter Report Form.pdf (30.5 kb) and return it to us mail or email contactus@hume.vic.gov.au
What types of Litter can I report?
The following types of litter can be reported to us by using the Litter Report Form.pdf (30.5 kb):
- litter thrown from a vehicle or by a person directly associated with a vehicle
- litter blown from a vehicle
- windblown litter from commercial properties or construction sites
- advertising material placed on vehicles
- posters placed up without written permission.
What Information do I need to make a report?
The following information is needed when reporting littering from a vehicle:
- the vehicle's registration number
- a description of the vehicle, including make (eg. Holden), body type (eg. sedan, ute, van, etc), colour and model (if possible)
- where and when you saw the vehicle, including the road, suburb, date and time
- type of litter that you saw
- description of the person who dropped the litter (if possible).
How do I request a new Litter Bin or Smokers Pole?
To request a new litter bin or smokers pole, please send your request to us in writing via email contactus@hume.vic.gov.au or call us on 9205 2200. Please include the location and reason for installation in your request. All requests for litter bins and smokers poles will be reviewed and you will be contacted with the outcome of the review.
Clean Up Australia Every Day
Clean Up Australia Day was held on Sunday 4 March for the 22nd year!
But cleaning up Australia doesn't have to stop there. You can Clean Up Australia every day by registering a site with Clean Up Australia any day of the year! Simply visit the website and register your site and they will send you the materials to help you run your clean up event.
