Craigieburn Town Centre project comes to life

Work is underway on a vibrant new $330 million shopping, entertainment and community precinct that will transform Craigieburn into a key regional shopping destination.

The Craigieburn Town Centre development – known as Craigieburn Central – will be home to more than 160 new retailers complete with department stores, restaurants, fresh food market, cinema complex, leisure and entertainment facilities.

The final design of Craigieburn Central merges the best elements of both indoor and outdoor shopping centres, combining ‘main street’ shopping with fully enclosed malls.

Craigieburn Central will also feature landscaped public spaces, meeting places and an exciting new entertainment and leisure precinct.

Craigieburn Central will be built over 50,000 square metres and is located on Craigieburn Road, Craigieburn – a stone’s throw away from the new Hume Global Learning Centre.

What retailers will be located at Craigieburn Central?

More than 160 retailers will be located at the new shopping precinct, providing convenience for families and their day-to-day shopping needs such as groceries, postal services, banking and a selection of non-retail services.

Large supermarket operators Coles and Woolworths will join department stores Target and Big W and other new tenants will be announced by developer Lend Lease in the coming months.

It will also include casual family restaurants, a children’s playground, cinema complex and a new concept in food court dining.

How can I get there and what public transport options are available?

Public buses will take people to the shopping centre from most parts of Craigieburn.

What work is happening on site?

Currently the carparks, roads and buildings have all commenced.

This is necessary to meet the constrained project time lines.
