| Winners announced! | | The winners of the 2009 Hume City Council Teachers' Scholarships have been announced. Congratulations to all winning teachers!

The scholarships were presented by The Hon. Maria Vamvakinou, Federal Member for Calwell, Hume Mayor Cr Jack Ogilvie and the 2008 scholarship winners, at the Teachers' Scholarships Awards Night on Thursday 3 September at the Hume Global Learning Centre in Broadmeadows.
Over 180 guests enjoyed canapes made and served by hospitality students from Roxburgh College, and listened to music by the Peny Bohan Trio before the Awards Ceremony began.

The winning teachers each received a $4000 scholarship, to be spent on furthering learning in Hume.
The Hume City Council Teachers' Scholarships allow teachers to learn about new models, ideas and approaches to supporting learning, knowledge or skill development in Australia or overseas. This may include attending conferences and workshops, or working with an innovative project.
