Community Group Activity Grant


Community Group Activity Grants are one-year grants that assist Community groups to meet the varied social, recreation and support needs of Hume city residents.  Funding provides financial assistance towards program and activity costs.

Activities in this category could include but are not limited to:

  • The establishment of a community garden.
  • The purchase of new equipment, including sporting equipment (up to $1,000)
  • The delivery of a community art project.

Groups generally considered in this category include:

  • Multicultural groups
  • Resident associations
  • Older persons groups
  • Special interest activity groups (e.g. climate, environmental and friends groups)
  • Sporting groups
  • Support groups
  • Youth groups


Applicants must:

  • Run the proposed activity or project from a location within Hume and/or show that it will substantially benefit residents of Hume City
  • Be able to demonstrate that the applicant has minimal financial resources or a limited ability to fundraise for the activity or project identified in the application.
  • Have no outstanding debts with Hume City Council.
  • Have satisfactorily acquitted previous funding received by Hume City Council.
  • Be incorporated or be a first-time applicant (applicants that are not incorporated must be auspiced by an incorporated not-for profit organisation and provide evidence of this arrangement)
