Protected Disclosure Act 2012

As a requirement of the Protected Disclosure Act 2012, Council has developed Protected Disclosure Procedures. Traditionally known as whistleblowing procedures, these procedures deal with the system for reporting disclosures of improper conduct or detrimental action by the Hume City Council or its employees, officers or councillors.

Disclosures involving improper conduct or detrimental action by the Hume City Council or its employees, officers or councillors, enquiries should be directed to either:

  • The Protected Disclosures Coordinator, Mr Daryl Whitfort, Director Corporate Services on 9205 2200,
  • The Protected Disclosures Officer, Mr Gavan O’Keefe, Manager, Governance on 9205 2240, or
  • The Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) on 1300 735 135.
