Improving outcomes for Hume's Children

Hume City Council, with the members of the Hume Early Years Partnership, today launched a strategic document, which will promote the best learning and development opportunities for children and families in Hume City.

“I am pleased to release the Hume Early Years Framework and Council Early Years Action Plan today,” Hume Mayor, Councillor Adem Atmaca said.

“This document is a product of a strong collaboration with service providers, the education and community sector, and families and children in Hume City.

“I want to acknowledge the importance of working together to achieve common learning and development outcomes for children.

“The Framework has enabled partner organisations and Council to develop action plans that respond to the unique needs and aspirations of our community, and today Council has launched a five-year action plan that will help prioritise efforts to support improved outcomes for our residents.”

International research shows that positive early years experiences create a strong foundation of skills and learning capabilities within a child, which are then used throughout their life.

“Supportive services that provide relevant and timely information can empower parents and carers to make informed decisions that enable the best outcomes for their children,” Cr Atmaca said.

“This Framework and Action Plan will help us positively impact the lives of families and children within Hume now and in the future.”
