Refreshed, repacked and ready!

The Hume Mobile Library has returned to the road with a brand new look, Hume Mayor, Councillor Adem Atmaca, announced today.

Cr Atmaca said residents could look forward to a comfortable and modern library experience.

“The Hume Mobile Library operates from Monday to Saturday and is visited by many residents,” Cr Atmaca said.

“We’ve upgraded the vehicle so it can help residents to access books on a wide range of topics.

“Hume City Council has added new carpet, and installed benches and cabinets.

“We have also replaced panels on the outside of the vehicle and applied fresh signage.”

The Hume Mobile Library includes children’s picture books, teenage fiction, adult fiction, non-fiction and biographies.

New books available through the Hume Mobile Library include:

• Same Same but Different by Poh Ling Yeow;
• David Baldacci’s Memory Man; and
• The Santangelos by Jackie Collins.

The library on wheels visits the suburbs of Campbellfield, Coolaroo, Dallas, Greenvale, Meadow Heights, and Roxburgh Park.

Cr Atmaca encouraged residents to browse the Hume Mobile Library soon.

“Some books allow people to escape to another world, while others can teach new skills,” he said.

“There are titles in the Hume Mobile Library that will make you laugh, and others that could inspire you to do something you never thought possible.

“We’ve got a terrific array of children’s books which can help young people to build up healthy reading habits.

“The library also includes lots of books that assist residents to improve their literacy, and they are useful to anyone who wants to return to study or find a different job.”

The Hume Mobile Library is serviced by a prime mover truck.
