Putting Women in Front

ARIA award winning musician, Clare Bowditch, will share valuable insights with local business people at Hume City Council’s Women in Front Networking Lunch.

The Logie-nominated actress, founder of Big Hearted Business and 774 radio presenter, will join more than 100 local business identities to share stories about her entrepreneurial career, about being creative and doing what you love, on Friday 5 August at Melrose Melbourne in Tullamarine.

Clare will also be performing one of her songs at the event.

Through Big Hearted Business, Clare has been able to enlighten creative people about business processes, and to inspire business people to be more creative, as one of the pathways to success.

Hume Mayor, Councillor Helen Patsikatheodorou, said Clare would offer insightful tips to businesses from across the community.

“It’s the sixth year we have held the Women in Front Networking Lunch and it continues to be a great way to share inspiration about how to grow a business,” Cr Patsikatheodorou said.

“We’ve prepared a great program which will inspire women to continue to achieve success in Hume. We want to help women to develop their businesses, because businesses that thrive improve the economy and create jobs.

“It can be hard for people in small business to meet others who share the same challenges, so this lunch will enable business representatives to make new connections and to listen to some great advice.

“I recommend that all participants bring along plenty of business cards, to make the most of this networking opportunity.”

Hume’s Women in Front Networking Lunch is one of 450 events that will take place in August as part of the Small Business Festival Victoria.

The festival recognises the power of small business. Small businesses provide nearly half of Victorian private sector jobs and contribute a third of the state’s output in goods and services.

Hume City Council offers a range of support for local businesses, including training and development workshops, and help for companies that wish to employ people who live in the community.

The Hume Women in Front Networking Lunch is proudly sponsored by Small Business Victoria, Telstra Business Centre Essendon and Telstra Store Broadmeadows.
