Hume Health and Wellbeing Plan 2017-21

Hume Health and Wellbeing Plan 2017-2021

The Hume Health and Wellbeing Plan 2017-2021 outlines how Hume City Council will work with our partners to promote and protect the health and wellbeing of everyone who lives, works, learns and plays in Hume.

Council recognises that the community’s health and wellbeing is influenced by the built, social, natural and economic environments that people live in.

This can include:

  • Walking and bike tracks that encourage people to be physically active;
  • Community programs and services that help residents feel part of their local community;
  • Parks and open spaces that promote people’s mental wellbeing; and
  • Local employment and learning opportunities that increase people’s skills and self-esteem.

The plan also recognises that creating a healthy Hume City is a shared responsibility.  Council works with a diverse range of partners, sectors and settings to ensure that all members of the community can enjoy a healthy and fulfilling life.

How was the plan developed?

The Hume Health and Wellbeing Plan is based on extensive research and consultation conducted with the community and other stakeholders.

Action Plans are developed annually to guide the delivery of the Hume Health and Wellbeing Plan across the municipality.

How will be the plan be evaluated?

The Action Plans are evaluated annually to ensure that the Hume Health and Wellbeing Plan continues to address the most important health and wellbeing issues across Hume City.
