Get active with dance and performance variety

Dancing, singing and drama enthusiasts are being called to put their best foot forward, with a new range of programs at Hume leisure and community centres.

Hume City Council’s Get Active Dance and More program features classes for all ages, with opportunities to perform at half year and end of year performances.

Hume Mayor Councillor Drew Jessop said the Get Active Dance and More programs would run across the 2017 schools terms in Broadmeadows, Craigieburn, Gladstone Park and Sunbury.

“Being in all corners of Hume City, Get Active Dance and More is an accessible option for all children and adults interested in dance and performance classes,” Cr Jessop said.

“Classes are led by qualified staff and conducted in a fun and welcoming atmosphere for all.”

Get Active Dance and More classes available in 2017 are:

  • Jazz/Hip hop
  • Calisthenics
  • Bollywood
  • Acrobatics
  • Singing Glee Club
  • Ballet
  • Drama
  • Tap dancing
  • Break dancing
  • Cheer-leading

“Get Active Dance and More also features Dancing on Wheels, a very popular program which will help you learn the skills of wheelchair dancing through all forms of dance, including ballroom and street,” Cr Jessop said.

 Classes commence in the first week of term one, 2017 (Monday 30 January) and registrations are open now.

Tuition payments

One class per week

4 x quarterly instalments of $110

Additional classes per week

4 x quarterly instalments of $100

Classes are to be paid for in advance before each term commences.
