Craigieburn ANZAC Park new home to festival’s weekend of fun

Craigieburn ANZAC Park will be the new home to Hume City Council’s Craigieburn Festival, set to take place across the first weekend of March.

The annual festival will take place from 3pm to 10pm on Saturday 4 March 2017, and between 11am and 4pm on Sunday 5 March 2017, for the first time at Craigieburn ANZAC Park, corner Central Park Avenue and Aitken Boulevard in Craigieburn.

Hume Mayor Councillor Drew Jessop said Craigieburn ANZAC Park was an ideal location for the festival, which would provide entertainment for families and friends of all ages.

“Craigieburn ANZAC Park will perfectly entertain and cater to the needs of Craigieburn’s rapidly growing community and surrounds,” Cr Jessop said.

“Anyone attending the Craigieburn Festival this year can expect an amazing venue and a weekend jam-packed with something for everyone!

“Along with food trucks and carnival rides, we’ll have free activities for kids and a ‘pets in the park’ zone, which will feature stalls and activities for your cats and dogs.

“You’ll be able to relax on the grass and watch entertainment on the main stage – there will be some fantastic local singers and dancers performing.

“We’ll have free pony and camel rides, and a jumping castle for children who love to bounce.

“You’ll be able to buy unique handmade gifts, such as jewellery, candles and art, at the festival’s craft market.

“We’ll have food and drinks on both days of the festival, with options to suit every taste!

“It’s sure to be a fun weekend, complete with the CFA Torchlight Parade and fireworks on the Saturday night that will light up the Craigieburn sky shortly after dusk.”

Cr Jessop said he hoped that people from Hume and beyond would attend this year’s Craigieburn Festival.

“The community of Craigieburn is home to so many young families, and the suburb is the perfect place for such a big weekend event,” he said.

“The festival will be a fantastic way for people to get to know other locals, and it’s destined to be a wonderful weekend.”
