Hume Mayor Geoff Porter said parents would have the opportunity to view facilities and ask educators questions about their child’s early childhood education to see if the centre is the right fit.

“Hume City Council’s Children Services open night is a great opportunity to meet staff and understand which centre will meet your child’s needs,” Cr Porter said.

“The open night is just one example of how we are making it easier for parents to access the best in services and facilities in all corners of Hume.

“There will be 28 Hume City Council Children’s Service centres open on the night and four non-Council run centres, so come along, ask questions and find a centre that’s right for you and your child.

“The open night is ideally timed to coincide with upcoming 2020 preschool enrolments.

“Registrations for 4 Year Old Preschool enrolments for 2020 open on 1 March 2018 for children born between 1 May 2015 and 30 April 2016.

“The open night will be a chance for parents to view centres prior to registering.”

Councillor Porter said Hume’s Children Service programs provided children with a stimulating, positive and nurturing environment.

“Our team of qualified educators deliver activities based on children’s interest, individual needs and abilities so they can reach their full potential,” Cr Porter said.

“Council is proud to deliver a high level of Children Services programs which prepare children for their transition to school and help them become confident lifelong learners.
