Hume City Council hosts inspiring Australian journalist

Social justice, equality and the #MeToo movement are just some of the topics that will be explored by Australian author, journalist and advocate Tracey Spicer at Hume City Council’s Women in Front Networking Lunch on Thursday 2 August 2018.

Hume Mayor, Councillor Geoff Porter said he was proud that Hume would host a person as iconic and well-respected as Tracey Spicer and encouraged all local businesswomen to attend.

“Tracey Spicer is an incredibly successful person and someone that anyone living and working in Hume can look up to,” Cr Porter said.

“As a journalist, passionate social justice campaigner and one of the leading figures in Australia’s #MeToo movement, Tracey is the perfect guest speaker for this event.

“Her passion for social justice has seen her establish NOW, a non-profit organisation which supports those effected by workplace harassment, while encouraging public debate on the issue.”

Councillor Porter said the Women in Front Networking event was a fantastic opportunity for business people to connect with their peers.

“Council is committed to helping local businesses thrive by connecting them with local development and networking opportunities.

“This unmissable event is one of the key business events in the municipality, offering the opportunity to be entertained, enlightened and mix with other creative and innovative professionals.

“The Women in Front Networking Lunch has been designed to inspire local business representatives to connect and stay informed.

“This event is part of the Small Business Festival Victoria and I encourage everyone to come along and take part.”
