Inaugural run set to rock Craigieburn Festival

Hume City Council’s Craigieburn Festival is back with a new and exciting addition to its program this year; a family fun run event.

Hume Mayor Geoff Porter said the 5km Craigieburn Twilight Run, which will take place on Saturday 3 March, offered a great opportunity for everyone to get active in a fun environment.

“Council is thrilled to add the Craigieburn Twilight Run to the Craigieburn Festival program,” Cr Porter said.

“The event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to get active and fit with friends and family.

Starting at Craigieburn ANZAC Park, runners will head north along Windrock Avenue, then complete a section of the Malcolm Creek Trail, before finishing back at Craigieburn ANZAC Park. Entrants can run or walk the event and wheelchair access is also available.

“After participating in the Craigieburn Twilight Run, you can continue the fun by enjoying everything else that the Craigieburn Festival has to offer this year,” Cr Porter said.

“This year’s Craigieburn Festival will also feature rides, food trucks, fireworks, entertaining performances and free kids activities, such as face painting and an animal farm.
