Applications now open for two new community grants!

Hume City Council has launched two new community grant categories, ’individual development’ and ’quick response’, as part of Council’s annual grants program.

Mayor of Hume City, Councillor Carly Moore said both categories are open now and applications can be submitted at any time throughout the year.

“Grants are an important avenue for Council to support the activities of our community,” Cr Moore said.

“We have introduced the new individual development and quick response grants to help us better meet what our community needs, when they need it.”

“The individual development category is an opportunity for residents to learn skills and build networks that will ultimately build the capacity of the wider Hume community.

“Offering this grant throughout the entire year will open doors and give dedicated locals a way to take part in professional development, mentorships, art and cultural activities or courses that they may not have been able to complete unaided.

“Available all year round, the new quick response grants are designed to help community groups make the most of unexpected opportunities or meet unforeseen needs.

“Sometimes new groups start, or existing groups discover opportunities outside the application period for our other grants, the quick response grant now provides a way to seek funding support of up to $1000 in those situations.”

Individual development grants:

  • are available all year round
  • applicants can apply for funding up to $750
  • support professional development opportunities

Quick response grants:

  • available throughout the year
  • applicants can apply for up to $1,000
  • support community organisations with emerging or unexpected needs and opportunities, along with providing a timely funding avenue for new groups.
