Have your say! Draft Multicultural Framework creating opportunities for our diverse community.

Hume City Council is seeking community feedback on its Draft Multicultural Framework, which considers ways for Hume to best service our entire community.

Mayor of Hume City, Councillor Carly Moore said we embrace the many cultures that form our Hume community.

“Our residents come from more than 156 countries and speak just as many different languages,” Cr Moore said.

“This diversity is something that makes our community unique and Council is always working to deliver services, programs and infrastructure that meets our community’s expectations.

“Cultural diversity is at the heart of Council service delivery, including a number of tailored programs such as the refugee immunisation program, bilingual programs and providing Cultural and Linguistically Diverse resources.  There are always opportunities to improve and be more inclusive.”

“We are very keen to hear your thoughts because the draft Multicultural Framework is an important part of our commitment to responding to the needs of our entire community.

“The framework considers diversity across all Council activities, and ensures established migrant communities, newly arrived migrants and emerging communities have access to Council information and services.

Feedback from this consultation will help inform the final Multicultural Framework. You can join the conversation by completing the online survey or attending one of our open house sessions. There are also options for you to share your feedback in languages other than English if you prefer.
