Scammers are taking advantage of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic by exploiting and playing on the fears of consumers and small businesses across Australia. The ACCC's Scamwatch has received multiple reports of phishing scams sent via email or text message impersonating the World Health Organization, government authorities, and legitimate businesses, including travel agents and telecommunications companies. The Small Business Mentoring service is changing rapidly, and we encourage you to check in on the website to see how they are delivering their programs. 

Small Business Victoria provides content to help small business owners, landlords and agents. One of the major issues that will arise in coming weeks and months is tenants may experience difficulty in paying rent. This content includes steps they can take now, and how the Victorian Small Business Commission’s mediation service might be able to help resolve lease disputes.

The program strives to support small businesses with their online needs by offering the following – workshops, one-on-one mentoring (2 hours), online learning and webinars. 

Victorian Chamber of Commerce

A “COVID-19 Employer Guide – Managing the workplace in the face of the outbreak” has been prepared by the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and is updated regularly. The guide provides assistance on how to manage the workplace in the face of an outbreak as well as information on the Federal and State stimulus packages.
