Guiding Steps for the Victorian Tourism Industry
As Victoria continues to effectively slow the spread of coronavirus, the Victorian Government is announcing its plan for the gradual re-opening of our economy. To get tourism operators ready to open their doors, as restrictions ease, the Victoria Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) has developed some Guiding Steps for the Victorian Tourism Industry. These principles will assist you in developing your restart plan, keeping customers and staff safe. Read more.

There is a range of useful information, resources and support to help your tourism or hospitality business during the crisis:  

  • The Department of Health has published resources for the accommodation industry including information for hotels and hotel staff, as well as for hotel guests

  • The Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) is currently offering free membership options for eligible businesses.  

  • Health VIC have a range of information for food businesses including cafes and restaurants. 

  • Visit Tourism Australia for the latest updates, including weekly webinars.  

  • Visit Consumer Affairs Victoria for guidance on how to manage customer cancellations.  

  • Visit Victoria has provided some useful industry tools and resources.  

  • The federal government has announced a funding boost to support Australian exporters and tourism businesses.
