Hume Central

Just 30 minutes from the Melbourne CBD, in Melbourne’s northern corridor, Hume Central is an ideal location to live, work and learn. Hume Central is three hectares of Council owned land centrally located within the Broadmeadows Metropolitan Activity Centre, as designated under Plan Melbourne.

Hume Central will contribute to the on-going revitalisation of Broadmeadows, delivering a key regional hub for employment and services, and a destination for shopping, dining, civic and cultural events.

Realising The Vision

Hume City Council is transforming Hume Central into a vibrant and active urban centre for Broadmeadows and Melbourne’s north.

Implementation of Hume Central is spearheaded by the $23m redevelopment of the Broadmeadows Town Hall. From late-2019 this refurbished facility will deliver new (and fully leased) space for professional offices and Hume’s Start North business accelerator, in addition to high quality new event and meeting spaces.

Visit the Broadmeadows Town Hall page to find out the latest news on the redevelopment.

What's Next

Hume Central is fully serviced and appropriately zoned, offering potential for new commercial office space, residential and mixed-use development.

Hume Central is:

  • ideally positioned with access to major arterial road networks, Melbourne’s CBD and Melbourne Airport
  • directly adjacent to the Broadmeadows Train Station, projected future super hub on the proposed Suburban Rail network offering rail to airport and north eastern suburbs, and current transport interchange for V/Line and 901 and 902 Smart Bus routes
  • in close proximity to Melbourne Airport with direct bus access
  • opposite the Broadmeadows Shopping Centre, and adjacent to the Hume Leisure Centre and indoor 50m pool, Basketball Stadium, Hume Global Learning Centre and Café, Hume Central Secondary School and Town Park.
