Hume Small Business Grants

If you have an idea and seeking financial support, Hume City Council encourage you to apply for a Hume City Small Business Grant. Applications are now open, and this funding is available until the $250,000 is expended.

Commercial tenancy relief for Victorians in small business

To support Victoria’s small and medium-sized businesses, the Victorian Government has implemented a requirement for commercial landlords to provide rent relief that matches their tenants’ fall in turnover in response to coronavirus (COVID-19), where the tenant is eligible for this support.

More information can be found at Victorian Small Business Commission.

Signage and COVIDSafe Plans

Cleaning, signage, record keeping, and other COVIDSafe requirements continue to apply. Your business must have an active, up-to-date COVIDSafe Plan.

COVIDSafe Deep Cleaning Rebate

A rebate of up to 80 per cent of cleaning costs (capped at $10,000 per site) is available to eligible businesses where a person suspected or confirmed to have coronavirus (COVID-19) has been on the premises or worksite when they may have been infectious. The rebate will be given through a grant application process.  Apply now.

COVIDSafe Plan and Guidelines for Businesses

The Victorian Government is working hard to ensure that every business that is open in Victoria knows that it must have a COVIDSafe Plan in place to help prevent future outbreaks of coronavirus.

As part of our plans to support industries to operate safely, the Victorian Government has developed a COVIDSafe Plan template to reduce the risk of introduction and spread of coronavirus in the workplace.

Find out the current COVIDSafe requirements for business and industry in Victoria.

In addition to this, businesses can also access a collection of signage, posters and questionnaires to assist in communicating key messages to workers and customers.

To learn more about these requirements and how to make your workplace COVIDSafe, please visit the coronavirus website

Supporting our local businesses

Hume's local businesses have been responding quickly to the changing demand by offering alternative methods of pick-up and delivery, exploring online options, increased hygiene measures and working with their staff and customers following advice surrounding social distancing.

To support Hume businesses, we've started a list of local businesses doing new things or altering their way of working to ensure they can continue delivering and providing for our community. If you are a business in Hume City that’s being innovative through these challenging times, get in touch with us today at business@hume.vic.gov.au or message us on Instagram @DiscoverHume.

You can also support local businesses by shopping locally.
