Digital library memberships are available

Join Hume Libraries online now for instant free access to our huge digital library collection magazines, movies, courses, ebooks, audiobooks and more.

While Hume Libraries are temporarily closed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, the best way to become a Hume Libraries member is to sign up is online. It only takes a minute to sign up, here’s how:

  1. Fill out the Hume Libraries online registration form.
  2. Once this is submitted you will see your new membership number on screen. Take note of this number as you will need it to access collections.
  3. Get ready to watch, listen, read and learn from home! Check out the list online library resources you now have access to.

Your Hume Libraries membership number and pin can be used to access a range of platforms, including Borrowbox, CloudLibrary and RB Digital (for ebooks, emagazines and audiobooks) as well as Kanopy (movies) and Lynda (online courses and tutorials).

You can access titles using your web browser or download the platform’s app for a better reading experience.

Visit Digital Library for full details of our collections and instructions on how to access apps.

Here is a brief guide to what you will find on our most popular apps:

BorrowBox - our largest collection of audiobooks with over 3,000 titles with a focus on Australian content. You will find over 4,000 of the latest ebooks as well!

CloudLibrary - our largest collection of ebooks with over 30,000 titles on offer!

RB Digital - here you will find super popular magazines, along with a smaller (but growing) collection of audiobooks and ebooks.

Kanopy - the home of must-see classic, independent, international and documentary films along with a fantastic selection of movies and TV series for kids.

When the libraries reopen, you will need to provide identification showing your name and current address to collect your library card. This may be provided in the form of (but not limited to) licence, health care card, billing notice, rental receipt. Your library card allows you to borrow items from any Hume Libraries branch and use our computers.
