All events at Hume City Council’s Community Centres of more than 100 people have been cancelled until further notice. The Community Centres will remain open with continual review based on the latest coronavirus advice from the Federal and State Government.

The Broadmeadows Community Hub is an active and vibrant community space giving access to a range of health, community, social and learning programs for the local residents.

The facility hosts a wide range of local neighbourhood activities including support services that strengthen the Broadmeadows community. Lifelong learning, education and training opportunities are offered at the Centre.

Facilities accessible include a computer lab, multipurpose meeting spaces, consulting room, Maternal Child and Health Nurses and commercial kitchen.

Our artwork

The Broadmeadows Community Hub is also home to a  permanent public art work by prominent Australian artist, Godwin Bradbeer. The work, titled Tabula Rasa, which literally means 'a clean slate', refers to ideas of new beginnings, learning and the power of imagination.

Further information for room hire

To hire a room, you are required to complete a Booking Application Form and the Conditions of Hire form. The completed documents are to be returned to the office or emailed to:

  • If unable to accommodate your booking request, staff will contact you as soon as possible.
  • Please note tentative bookings are only held for five days from the date of application.
  • Once the booking request has been accepted, a booking confirmation will be emailed to you.  Please ensure all booking details are correct on receiving the email.
  • Any changes to bookings must be made in writing prior to the commencement of the booking.
  • Four weeks prior to the event an invoice will be sent to the hirer from the Finance Department of Hume City Council. All fees and charges including bonds must be paid prior to the event. Hirers can pay via BPAY, Post Office or at any of Hume City Council's Customer Service Centres.
  • Hire fees are due and payable 14 days prior to the booking.
  • The booking time frame must also include set up and pack up time. Hirers will only be allowed to enter the facility during the agreed booking time frame and into the areas that they have been given access rights to.

Room Hire Restrictions 

  • Helium balloons, glitter and confetti are strictly prohibited in the Centre. All property, decorations, catering appliances or fittings belonging to a hirer are to be removed from the Centre before vacating the facility.
  • Smoke Machines - It is forbidden to have any ice, smoke haze or fog machine, sparklers or other apparatus that produces smoke, haze, fog or flames in the Centre.


Collection of Keys 

  • Keys are to be collected from the Broadmeadows Community Hub’s Reception by appointment and no later than 2pm Friday before the hire event. It is the responsibility of the hirer to collect the key in the time indicated.
  • An introduction to the centre, including security and alarm access together with a User Guide and Emergency Preparedness and Response Procedure will be provided to the hirer at that time.
  • Bonds may take up to four weeks to be refunded.
