Round 3 garden visit applications open Monday 17 April 2023.
Organise a Garden Visit
Since the G4W program started in 2022, Garden Guides completed over 40 garden visits. Garden Guides are community volunteers who are formally screened and trained by Council.
Hume City Council uses the online SmartyGrants system to administer our garden visits. In each round, 25 to 30 people can apply to have a garden visit and then the round is closed to further applications. Assistance in applying for a garden visit can be provided if required.
All the garden visits are conducted and reports provided before the next round opens.

After you have completed and submitted your application on SmartyGrants, you will be notified by email that Council has received your application.
A Garden Guide contacts the participants to arrange and confirm garden visits. Please be patient as it can take several months to progress through the participant list.
Garden visits can be scheduled any day of the week, in the morning or afternoon.
To stay informed, sign up to Live Green eNews or submit your contact details using the interactive Organise a Garden Visit brochure. You will be notified when the next round is opening.
