Outdoor Pool Weather Policy
Sunbury Aquatic and Leisure Centre has three outdoor heated pools, including a 50 metre pool, learner's pool and toddler's pool with lawn and shaded areas.
The outdoor pools are open from early November until March. The outdoor pools operate under Council’s Outdoor Pool Weather Policy during this time.
Regardless of the weather, the 50 metre outdoor pool is open every weekday from 6am to 10am and 3pm to 7pm and then on Saturday and Sunday 8am to 11am.
We will also open all day under the weather policy as forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology, at 4.30pm the previous day is 26°C or more.
Please note that during the warmer months, the outdoor pool can be booked for swimming carnivals and events and may not be available for recreational swimming on those days.

Lap Lane Etiquette
Lap Swimmers - Lap Lane Etiquette
- Keep to the left of the lap lane
- Keep to the left of the lane unless passing another swimmer
- Always pass to the right and return promptly to the left of the lane
- Allow faster swimmers to pass
- To avoid congestion at the end of the lane, move to the corner of the lane to allow other swimmers to continue
- If you have to move across any lanes, check both directions before moving
- Appropriate swim attire must be worn at all times
- Please bring your patience along with your goggles
- Co-operate with all signage and requests made by the supervising lifeguard
