Refugee Week 2023 is our chance to inform the public about refugees and celebrate the positive contributions made by refugees right across Hume City. 

Refugees and people seeking asylum deserve dignity, respect and safety. That is why we are committed to: 

  • raising awareness of the issues affecting refugees and people seeking asylum.  

  • advocating for the rights of refugees and people seeking asylum. 

  • creating a culture of welcome for refugees and people seeking asylum. 

  • celebrating the positive contributions refugees and people seeking asylum have made to our community. 

To celebrate Refugee Week 2023 we hosted a variety of events and shared stories from some of the incredible refugees and people seeking asylum from right across our community.
