Support and programs for young people

Council is committed to ensuring that all young people in Hume City are healthy, safe, connected, and have opportunities to thrive. Hume Youth Engagement and Pathways Unit (YEP) provides a range of responsive and integrated programs, initiatives and events that support young people aged 6 to 24 years to connect and thrive.

We work in partnership with schools, service providers, and community agencies to deliver supports that enhance social connection and mental health and wellbeing. We provide opportunities for young people to learn new skills such as advocacy, leadership and life-readiness, and supports that enable successful pathways to learning, training and employment.

Level Up Program

The Level Up program will equip young people aged 16-24 with the skills and mindset they need to start a business or enter the workforce.

GLITTER

GLITTER is a social group for LGBTIQA+ youth, facilitated in a safe place to hang out, connect, share and learn with like-minded people.
Get to know others in your community and explore important topics and ideas.

Hume Youth Makers Market

The Hume Youth Makers Market will display and sell handmade items made by young people.

Networks for Young People

Connect with services and organisations that provide support and guidance to young people.

Victorian Youth Fest

Victorian Youth Fest is a month-long celebration across Victoria highlighting the contributions and achievements of young people in their communities.

Youth Support Services

Here you will find a variety of support options available to young people and families.

Youth Central Training Café

The Youth Central Training Café (YCTC) is targeted at young people aged 18-24 connected to Hume who are interested in gaining new skills for potential employment in the Hospitality industry.
