Tapping Into My Silent Voice

Ava Tapestry.jpeg

An exhibition of tapestries and other woven work made by women from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds affected by violence.

The tapestry classes enabled the women to build skills, foster a sense of belonging and help break down barriers through the power of crafting, friendship, and trust, restoring hope for women to move forward with their lives in a new place.

Their weaving reflects their resilience, friendships and enjoyment of weaving.
