Chris Elsbury presents an intricate series of drawings of Australian birds rendered in coloured pencil on brown paper. Through the process of drawing, Chris contemplates how self-love can be inspired by nature and generate a meaningful connection to our surroundings.

Chris is an artist whose professional practice and passion for nature manifests in drawing. He approaches drawing as a self-mediative outlet to express self-love and recalls that drawing and art has always been a beneficial and crucial aspect of his life that has inspired a positive and therapeutic perspective; “inspiring, motivating and bringing out the best in my surroundings throughout my life. Art has truly given me the opportunity and purpose in life to be happy, positive and consistent.”

As an Artist, Chris has consistently refined his method of drawing with coloured pencils on paper, building on his strength to render realistic images of a multitude of Australian wildlife species. He has a particular passion and admiration for birds. The Wonders of Nature showcases the resonance they have for Chris to connect not only with nature but to a sense of self-love in ourselves.
