Join the fast track to success with the StartNorth Accelerator 2020

StartNorth coworking space is partnering with ygap to provide support for migrant and refugee business owners in their early stages of operation.
Mayor of Hume City, Councillor Carly Moore said, “StartNorth coworking space opened in October 2019, however it is much more than a shared office environment. Its main purpose is helping startups, scaleups and small businesses succeed by offering business development events.
“Given that almost one-third of Hume residents are first-generation migrants, it makes sense for StartNorth to offer a program that specialises in supporting migrant and refugee-led businesses.
“We are now looking for motivated migrants or refugees to apply for the StartNorth Accelerator 2020 program. Together, StartNorth and ygap will assist them develop the skills they need to succeed and provide access to a network of support and funds.”
ygap is an international development not-for-profit which has run more than 40 accelerators globally and supported more than 500 entrepreneurs to grow their business.
Backed by LaunchVic, StartNorth Accelerator 2020 will offer ygap’s established program for up to 15 startups.
“The free program commences with a five-day accelerate phase designed to fast-track businesses. Council will provide training, mentoring and a community of inspiring, like-minded participants to explore and develop ideas.
“Following the accelerate week, we provide businesses with three months of tailored support, free coworking space membership, access to grants and the chance to promote your business with others.
“This is an opportunity to create real growth in 2020 with the help of world-class mentors and programs.” Cr Moore said.

Aside from the accelerator program, StartNorth offers a range of services and business events to suit the startup community, including lunch and learn sessions, free coworking days, and Small Business Victoria workshops.
