Parking Permits

Residents who reside in a street with ‘Permit Zone’ parking restrictions may be eligible for residential parking permits. Residents are eligible for up to three parking permits which is a combination of fixed and visitor permits.

Unit developments of three or more dwellings are eligible for only one residential parking permit each dwelling being either a Fixed or Visitor parking permit.

Types of residential parking permits

Fixed – For use on a vehicle where the permit is fixed to the windscreen
Visitor – For use by residents and/or their visitors to be placed on top of the dashboard.
Temporary – For use by residents and/or their visitors for special occasions. A maximum of four permits that will be valid for up to three days.

1st Permit – FREE
2nd Permit – FREE
3rd Permit - $21.00 administration fee

Temporary Parking Permits – FREE
(a maximum of four permits, valid for up to three days)

How to apply for a residential parking permit

To apply for a residential parking permit, you will need to complete and sign an application form. Please print and complete the residential parking permit application form and forward it to;

Residents who reside in a unit development of three or more dwellings are only eligible for one residential parking permit. To apply, please print and complete the residential parking permit application form (Multi Unit Developments) and forward it to the above address.

To apply for Temporary Parking Permits, please print and complete the temporary parking permit application form and forward it to the above address.

Alternatively you can submit your form to a Hume City Council Customer Service Centre.

Lost and replacement permits

Any lost permits must be reported as soon as possible. A statutory declaration needs to be forwarded to Council outlining the circumstances of the lost permit.
The replacement of lost permits will incur a $21.00 administration fee. The lost permit will be cancelled and any vehicles displaying a cancelled permit risks receiving a Parking Infringement Notice.

Fixed residential parking permits are only valid for the vehicle they have been issued for. If you change your vehicle and require a new permit, an application form needs to be completed and forwarded to Council. You will need to return your old permit with your application.  A $21.00 administration fee will incur if the old permit is not returned.

Renewals

Council will contact all current permit holder prior to permits expiring providing the opportunity to reapply for new permits.
