Immunisation records

We register your child’s immunisation details with the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). This means your child’s immunisation details will remain up-to-date and accessible throughout Australia.

My Health Record is also a convenient way that you can track your child’s immunisations. It’s a secure online summary of your child’s health information that you can choose to share with your healthcare providers.

No Jab, No Play

If your child is attending childcare or kindergarten, you will need to provide proof that your child is up-to-date with their immunisations.

Your childcare service provider will ask you for an Immunisation History Statement for your child when you enrol, and again 6-7 months later. If you do not provide an Immunisation History Statement, your child may not be able to attend childcare or kindergarten.

No Jab, No Pay

Your Commonwealth Family Tax Benefit Part A or the Childcare Rebate may be reduced if:

• Your child has not received all immunisations required for their age; or

• Your child’s immunisations are not correctly recorded on the AIR

If your child requires immunisations, you should contact Council or your GP to arrange them as soon as possible.

If you believe your child’s details on AIR are incorrect, you should contact your immunisation service provider (Council or GP).

Catch-up schedules

If your child has missed some or all of their required vaccinations, Council can develop and deliver a catch-up schedule.

Catch-up schedules may be required for a number of reasons, such as:

  • your child was overseas or on holiday and missed the vaccination that was due

  • your family recently migrated to Australia

  • your child had a medical condition preventing immunisation at a young age

  • you have been contacted by Council, Centrelink or the AIR stating your child is not up to date.

If your child requires a catch-up schedule, it is best that you contact Council's Immunisation Service before attending one of our public immunisation sessions. This helps to ensure that we have all the necessary vaccinations at the sessions and to avoid long wait times. You can contact us via email or by calling 9205 2200
