Respite Care

We recognise the valuable and important role of carers and that carers also need support. Both in-house and centre-based Respite Care services are available to give carers a break from their caring role. The respite care will be designed to provide the carer with the necessary peace of mind to benefit from the respite care.

Community Respite

Community respite service provides an opportunity for the care recipient to spend time in the community whilst giving the carer a break from the caring role. Duties completed in the community are focused on the interests of the client e.g. person with an interest in gardening may enjoy times at a park, garden or nursery. For community respite there is an additional charge for travel over 10 kms from home.

In-Home Respite

In-home respite service provides an opportunity for the carer to have a break from the caring role. It is designed to ensure that the carer is able to access the community knowing the person they care for is being supervised in the home. Duties completed during respite care are focused on the interests of the recipient. Tasks may be reading, looking at books, talking, supervising clients with light gardening and light cooking.
