Are you Hume's next Youth Mayor?

**Applications have now closed for Youth Mayor/Youth Deputy Mayor Work Experience Program for 2019. The successful canditates will be announced at the Youth Week launch in April**

The ultimate work experience gig is here: Youth Mayor and Youth Deputy Mayor!

Hume City Council is offering a unique and exciting opportunity for two year 10 students to accompany the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor as part of their year 10 work experience program.

You will be attending a Council Meeting, community events and have an opportunity to view the operations of Council with the Mayor or the Deputy Mayor.

This is a great opportunity to learn about your local Council and gain an understanding of what the Mayor and Deputy Mayor’s roles are within Hume City. This program will allow you to build your profile within the community and represent the voices of young people during Victorian Youth Week (5 – 14 April 2019).

Who should apply?

Year 10 students who:

  • are enrolled in a secondary school in Hume City
  • currently completing Year 10 and aged 15 before Friday 5 April 2019
  • are keen to see leadership in action
  • like giving back to the community
  • have future goals and aspirations involving the community
  • interested in learning about Local Government
