Beautifying Blind Creek

The Friends of Blind Creek continue their fabulous work to beautify the creek, this time doing a planting near the small park on Olive Grove, followed by a free lunch. Restoring the riparian vegetation along the southern creekbank is a long-term planting focus.

NAIDOC week bush tucker workshop & planting

Join the students and teachers at Kangan Institute’s Indigenous Education Centre. See young Aboriginal dancers, learn about local bush tucker and help plant native plants at this award winning facility run by members of the Gunung-Willam-Balluk community. Mayor of Hume Cr Drew Jessop and local Aboriginal elders will pay tribute to Hume’s Aboriginal community and to the natural environment in Hume.
