Adopt a Park

Would you like to make a difference in your local area and make some new friends in your neighbourhood?
Residents and community groups are invited to adopt a local park, and help us keep Hume clean and a place to be proud of.

Adopt a Park means that you agree to be responsible for helping to keep it clean and remove litter, and report any damage, graffiti or illegal dumping.  Adopters are also asked to report any illegal rubbish dumping and provide details that might help identify the person dumping the rubbish. Then, it can be cleaned up.

What support will you receive?

Your efforts will be supported by Council with:

  • Signs displayed at the entrance to the park stating the park has been adopted by a community group
  • Additional rubbish collections from site clean ups as required
  • Graffiti clean up kits to remove small amounts of graffiti
  • Access to the graffiti trailer for larger graffiti clean ups.

How to get started?

Simply select a park in your area you would like to adopt, and call Council's Waste and Litter Education Officer on 9205 2200.
