Hume Field Guides

Hume City Council's free field guides are designed to encourage residents to explore the amazing diversity of native birds, mammals, reptiles and frogs found in Hume's waterways, woodlands and grasslands.

The Birds of Hume field guide contains 146 different species to help identify local birds and get tips on where to go birdwatching or how to attract more birds to your backyard.

The Fauna of Hume field guide contains 61 native species of mammals, frogs and reptiles and includes six of the most common introduced species that can be spotted throughout Hume..

Limited hard copies may be available, so contact the Sustainable Environment Department via faunasightings@hume.vic.gov.au or 9205 2200 to receive your free copy.

You can also download electronic copies of both guides below.
