School of Fish – Colourful Collective

Colourful Collective web image.png

Melbourne’s Colourful Collective is a social and environmental enterprise dedicated to sustainable and creative design by re-purposing and up-cycling post-consumer plastic waste. Through diverting and recycling plastic waste from the natural environment, they aim to educate and create awareness around the dangers of single-use plastics and a throw-away consumer society.

Colourful Collective will collaborate with Hume Community Development (Arts & Culture), Sustainable Environment and Waste Management to deliver a community-based art project, engaging school students and community members in workshops making fish from re-used plastics to form a large ‘school of fish’ installation in the Town Hall Broadmeadows Gallery.

The project aims to raise awareness about the effects of plastic waste in our natural environment (in particular our oceans), culminating in a World Environment Day celebration event in the Gallery.
